LOCATION: BEDFORDSHIRE
SALARY: £28K-£30K
SHIFTS: MON-THURS 7:30AM-5PM, FRI 7:30AM-12PM
FULL TIME, PERMENANT
OVER TIME AVAILABLE

We are looking to recruit a hands-on Electrical Engineer to work for a well-known company within the food manufacturing industry, based in Bedfordshire. This is a factory-based role but may require occasional travel to remote manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities

  • Building control panels to technical drawings, including cutting and fitting of wire ducting and din rail.
  • Wiring control panels to electrical schematic drawings
  • Testing control panels to relevant documentation
  • Fault finding Control panels
  • Working with low voltage single & three phase AC systems, ranging from 110V - 600V
  • Working with extra low voltage DC systems, typically 24V
  • Working alongside the mechanical department to field wire the control system within the machine envelope.
  • Helping electrical maintenance in and around the factory

Qualifications & Skills

  • Has time proven practical electrical wiring experience in an industrial environment, mechanical experience would also be beneficial
  • Can manage a dynamic workload and have a flexible approach to the role whilst maintaining excellent problem-solving abilities and an eye for details.
  • Is experienced in reading and interpreting technical drawings and interpret data in written/numerical form on electrical systems
  • Works well as an individual and effectively within a group
  • Has completed an engineering apprenticeship with an electrical bias
  • Is qualified to NVQ Level3, An equivalent standard or above in an electrical engineering related subject.

Additional items that would be beneficial to the candidate:

  • Qualified to BS7671 18th Edition.
  • Knowledge of PLC hardware and software such as, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley & Siemens
  • Knowledge of Industrial networking systems such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, RS282, RS485, etc
  • Knowledge of domestic & commercial fixed wire electrical systems
