Grafton Banks Finance are working with a commercial services company with offices in the Eastbourne area to recruit an Accountant on an initial 2–3-month temporary contract. Working full time hours 37.5 a week, hybrid working is on offer 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Reporting into the Finance Manager and working in a small friendly finance team as the temporary Accountant you will assist the finance team with a variety of accounting duties, supporting all Company and Group business objectives and service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- To assist the Finance Manager with the preparation and review of monthly group financial statements and associated reports for group reporting
- Posting of all month end journals, including prepayments and accruals
- Completion of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Providing monthly P & L reports to Business Units and Stakeholders with commentary and variance analysis.
- Management and uploading of company prepaid charge cards
- Verifying and uploading of company travel supplier statements
- Maintenance of company fixed asset register, including additions and monthly depreciation
- Assist in the preparation of Budgets and Forecasting
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Review of aged debtors and creditors to ensure no outstanding issues
- Uploading of daily bank statements on to ERP system for all group companies, including matching of customer receipts and supplier payments
- Reconciliation of all bank accounts on a daily basis
- Preparation of sales invoices as required
- Preparation of cost recharge invoices to group companies when required
- Reconciliation of key vendor monthly statements to ensure that all costs are correctly included within the financial records
- Set up of new user profiles on ERP system
- Holiday cover for other members of the team as required
Key Skills required for this Temporary Job Opportunity:
- Previous practical working experience in a busy finance function ( ACCA, CIMA, ACA, Qualified by Experienced)
- Successful track record of finance experience in industry desirable
- Ability to learn quickly, and stand on own two feet
- Proven record of meeting tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
- Previously worked in a fast-paced environment
- Team player and good communicator (verbal and written)
- Proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel particularly VLOOKUP and Pivot tables)
