Senior Regeneration Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking two experienced and dynamic Area Regeneration Managers to join our Growth and Place Department, this is a senior managerial position. You will play a key role in delivering our ambitious Development & Regeneration programme, aligning with the Council's Housing Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex regeneration projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet the highest standards in planning, procurement, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Regeneration Projects: Manage and coordinate regeneration projects from development through to delivery, ensuring adherence to project management principles, including risk management, value for money, and performance monitoring.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work directly with registered providers, residents, developers, investors, and major landowners to align with key borough objectives, identifying joint development opportunities.
  • Procurement & Contract Management: Determine and lead procurement and contractual arrangements, balancing risk and reward while ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
  • Funding Strategies: Develop and manage funding strategies, securing external sources of finance and ensuring timely and appropriate budget management.
  • Policy & Strategy: Stay abreast of local and national regeneration policies, applying this knowledge to shape the successful delivery of the Council's major regeneration projects.
  • Communication & Partnership: Develop a communications strategy, manage community consultation events, and sustain partnership working with public and private sector organisations.
  • Risk & Performance Management: Ensure project risks and issues are effectively managed, and service continuity plans are in place.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Degree-level qualification is required.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in physical, economic, and social regeneration, with a strong understanding of housing and regeneration policy.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex housing-led regeneration programmes, from design and planning to construction.
  • Demonstrated success in developing partnerships and service level agreements with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial management, including the preparation, delivery, and monitoring of large capital budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of the statutory planning system and the property development and regeneration market.
  • Proven experience in managing a team
