Role and Responsibilities
As our Behaviour Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support and guidance to students with SEMH and ASD. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing personalised behaviour management plans to address individual needs.
- Building strong rapport and trust with students, creating a safe and nurturing environment.
- Providing one-on-one mentoring and support during challenging situations.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent and holistic support.
- Monitoring student progress, assessing effectiveness of interventions, and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Promoting social-emotional development and fostering positive relationships within the school community.
Qualifications and Experience
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Must have experience working with students with SEMH and ASD.
- A solid understanding of evidence-based practices in behaviour management.
- Strong knowledge of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, serving as a positive role model for students.
- A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of students.
