Your new role
In this exciting Junior Project Accountant role, you will work within a friendly team of 6 people. The role has come about due to an internal promotion and could also offer the successful candidate the opportunity to do the same in the future. You will be responsible for Billing, maintaining PO's, setting up new clients, liaising with clients including dealing with client queries, issuing statements, Credit Control, posting & allocation of receipts, preparation of monthly income recognition, maintaining the job revenue tracker for multiple business entities, weekly job update meetings with the Project Managers, weekly reporting on sales, margin & pipeline as well as project profitability, assisting with job cost reconciliations and investigation of variances, and flagging any overspend.
What you'll need to succeed
This role will suit someone with a relevant university degree (i.e. Accountancy & Finance, Maths, or Economics) with previous experience working in Sales Ledger (including Billing) and ideally Accounts Payable. You'll be keen to broaden your skill set in a project-based finance role and be ambitious, determined to succeed, with a desire to learn and grow your skill set and add value to the team. The successful candidate will be a confident, sociable, friendly and engaging person with a strong academic background and excellent, clear communication skills. You'll also have intermediate Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) and finance system experience (Paprika is highly advantageous but by no means essential).
