Your creativity and attention to detail will be instrumental in delivering successful engagement activities and contributing to our mission of putting local residents at the heart of all we do.

Key responsibilities

  1. Digital content design
  • Create impactful and original digital content to enhance the Council's online presence and community interaction
  • Produce and co-ordinate news update posts, maintaining the Council's tone of voice and engaging our audiences
  • Create questionnaires to collect meaningful and actionable feedback from local residents and other stakeholders
  • Use GIS data to create and manage maps as part of the Council's place-based approach to community engagement
  • Ensure adherence to the Council's brand guidelines
  • Monitor latest trends and best practices in digital engagement
  1. Communication and engagement
  • Ensure the Council's engagement sites are kept up to date, with content that is accessible and engages our audiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and impactful digital engagement activities
  • Maintain good relationships teams within the Council and act as a line of communication between the Council and our software provider
  • Promote engagement with the Council's activities to a range of audiences in collaboration with colleagues
  • Keep abreast of public responses to the Council's engagement activities and highlight sensitive topics to the Team Manager

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience in a digital or communications role, including stakeholder engagement, creating content for digital channels and digital communications (such as e-newsletters or social media)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience of creating and adapting copy and visual assets to tight briefs and the ability to adapt writing styles for a variety of audiences
  • Proficiency with some or all of the following - digital analytics tools, digital dashboards, survey software, online graphic design tools, data visualisation and presentation tools - and/or a willingness to learn new systems
