Mechanical Design Engineer
Role and Responsibilities
- Designing user-focused machinery for manual, semi-automated or PLC control
- Creating 3D CAD models and 2D detail drawings of new parts, fabrications and assemblies
- Creating clear and accurate technical documentation necessary for the specification, manufacture, assembly, testing and support of machinery throughout product lifecycle
- Designing and conducting practical functional tests, reliability tests and user trials
- Investigating change requests using a thorough and methodical approach
Mechanical Design Engineer
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role designing product or industrial equipment for small to medium production volumes
- Excellent 3D CAD skills
- Sound knowledge of MRP, BOMs and product data management systems
- Familiar with design for assembly and design for serviceability
- Previous experience of designing for compliance requirements
