Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be partnering with one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK to recruit for a Category Manager who will sit within the brand team and develop and own all categories for the business within health, beauty and supplements.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £35,000-£45,000

Contract: Permanent, full time, hybrid in office 2 days a week

Start date: August - September 2024

The role:

In this role, you will develop and implement a brand and product marketing strategy that aligns with company goals to establish a leading position in the category. You will manage and grow award-winning supplement and skincare ranges, using creativity and initiative to craft compelling plans and messaging that drive sales growth and enhance brand equity. You'll oversee day-to-day initiatives, working closely with channel owners to foster demand and loyalty among both new and existing customers. The role requires strategic thinking, the ability to dive into details, and strong leadership to drive action and collaborate effectively with various teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Product Manager to execute brand strategies, along with yearly and seasonal marketing plans, ensuring all consumer touchpoints align with the brand and company objectives.
  • Engage with external agencies and internal teams to develop and share communications across digital platforms, regularly update website content, and ensure the site is optimised to enhance search engine rankings.
  • Serve as the category expert, staying informed on consumer behaviour, market trends, and competitor activity.
  • Work closely with the product development team on new and existing product development projects.
  • Create compelling product claims and messaging, implementing these across all channels.
  • Collaborate with the internal creative team to develop digital campaigns, ensuring well-crafted creative briefs.
  • Partner with the Insights team to drive data-driven decisions across brand tactics and long-term strategies.
  • Focus on driving revenue and brand growth across all channels.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication across teams and strategic projects.
  • Manage spend trackers, budgets, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Report and communicate brand metrics, performance, and project timelines to stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to team, project, and external meetings.
  • Prepare briefs for both internal and external agencies.

Candidate Criteria:

  • Experience in working across multiple disciplines, functions, and channels.
  • Experience in the health and beauty sector is highly desirable, with a strong background in FMCG required.
  • Digital experience, particularly within E-Commerce, is essential.
  • Proficiency in analytics, pricing, performance, planning, promotions, and commerciality.
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Experience in managing agencies or third-party relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including copywriting.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Self-starter with a high level of motivation and initiative.
  • Experience thriving in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment within an ambitious, growing business.
  • Embraces an entrepreneurial spirit with a hands-on approach to tasks.
  • Strong foundation in brand management, with enjoyment of working in a creative setting.
  • Proven ability to act as a true team player, showing adaptability and a solution-focused mindset in a small but expanding company.
  • Expertise in collaborating effectively across all business functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving with strong initiative.
