SEN - SENCO

A dedicated school who provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is looking to appoint a SENCo.

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SENCo to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing the provision for students with SEMH needs, ensuring they receive the highest quality of education and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with SEMH needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee the provision of SEN support across the school.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEMH needs, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEMH-related issues and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and school policies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognized SENCo qualification.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
