1-1 Learning Support Assistant - September 2024
Hornchurch School requires a 1-1 Learning Support Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with Angelman Syndrome, the pupil is working at a low level with little communication.
We are looking for someone who is fun and energetic with a passion to support Special Needs and make a difference to a young life.
Monday to Friday - Term Time Only
1**-1 Learning Support Assistant**
- Experience and knowledge of working with children that have Special Needs.
- An understanding of working with pupils that are Non-Verbal or have limited communication, with strategies to develop.
- Experience and knowledge of PECS, Makaton or Signalong would be essential.
- An interest, motivation and passion for working with Special Needs children and developing skills to facilitate this.
- The ability to reflect on own behaviour to ensure teams are strong and working together to meet the needs of the pupil.
- Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within this
- A high level of professionalism and the ability to distinguish personal and professional boundaries in school related relationships both in and outside of the school
- Be comfortable to manage the students personal care as and when required.
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or Care qualification.
