Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker with experience in complex care to join our team. The successful candidate will provide dedicated care to a 7-year-old female client. This role requires a female Support Worker due to the specific needs and preferences of our client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care and support to a 7-year-old female client with complex health needs.
- Assist with daily living activities, ensuring the client's comfort and well-being.
- Administer medications, including rescue medications, following prescribed protocols.
- Perform PEG feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Monitor and manage epilepsy and other health conditions, responding effectively to seizures and other medical emergencies.
- Ensure the client's safety and well-being at all times, including during transportation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to create a holistic care plan.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided and the client's health status.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment to enhance the client's quality of life.
Required Competencies and Qualifications:
- Experience with Cerebral Palsy (CP): Proven experience in managing and supporting individuals with CP, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
- Epilepsy Management: Expertise in monitoring and managing epilepsy, including the administration of rescue medications.
- Medication Administration: Proficiency in administering medications, ensuring adherence to prescribed schedules and protocols.
- PEG Feeding: Experience in performing PEG feeding, ensuring the client's nutritional and hydration needs are met.
- Driving License: Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to drive the client to appointments and activities safely.
- Compassion and Empathy: A caring and compassionate nature, with a strong commitment to improving the client's quality of life.
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with the client, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to accurately follow care plans and document care activities.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
