  • Salary Range: £33,945 - £43,421
  • Location: Horsham – West Sussex
  • Job Type: Full-time (Part-time options available)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking an HR Manager to join our Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the school's HR management, working closely with the Executive Assistant to the Principal and the Finance team.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage staff attendance in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Coordinate the school's Leave of Absence scheme and manage maternity/paternity leave.
  • Administer the school Staff Attendance Policy.
  • Monitor and support the moderation of staff Performance Management.
  • Annually review Job Descriptions and Person Specifications.
  • Manage recruitment campaigns, including drafting adverts and job specifications.
  • Handle grievance and discipline cases, including investigation and presentation.
  • Maintain and update HR policies in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Undertake Mental Health Awareness training and support the school's wellbeing strategies.
  • Prepare employment documents and maintain the school's HR information system.
  • Support the DBS checking procedure and resolve pay queries.
  • Assist with Occupational Health requests and manage absences.
  • Advise on performance management policies and assist with training plan development.
  • Support the staff induction process and monitor probationary periods.
  • Provide manpower reports and statistical data to the SLT.
  • Advise and support the governors on HR issues and report to the governors' personnel committee.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HR management.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, employment law, and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and management.
