Finance Analyst Cost

Hays are working exclusively with this public sector organisation, based in the West Midlands, who are looking for a Finance Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
As the Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing financial data, ensuring accurate and efficient cost management to support the organisation's business objectives.
Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed reports and presentations on cost trends and variances for the management accounts
  • Preparing the annual resource budget through collaborative discussions with budget holder
  • Undertaking regular reviews with budget holders and different departments across the organisation, to develop accurate forecasts, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reconciling of all financial transactions in your area
  • Implement best practices for cost management and control

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you will:

  • Hold a relevant Finance Qualification
  • Have prior experience analysing costs and working up costings and budgets
  • Have experience of analysing data and trends
  • Have knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations
