People Advisor: Part-time (up to 0.8 FTE) / 2 year fixed-term contract.

Birmingham, West Midlands (with hybrid working).

We are looking for a part-time People Advisor to join our People Services team in Birmingham, where you will be responsible for providing professional advice to managers on a variety of people-related issues.

We can offer flexible part-time hours to suit, between 22 and 30 hours per week, which should include Mondays and Wednesdays as a working day.

Your Role

As a People Advisor, the main aspect of the role will be providing trusted professional advice by applying specific employment related knowledge. You will have the ability to analyse and understand complex casework and react swiftly, highlighting risks and trends where appropriate, and identifying well-reasoned and pragmatic recommendations on how to proceed.

In addition to employee relations casework, your role will also involve:

- Being the custodian of people policies ensuring alignment to relevant resources and learning.
- Working with key stakeholders, to ensure people policies are maintained and are in an appropriate and accessible format.
- Supporting with the consultation of policy change and implementation via our recognised trade union.
- Using data and insights from people surveys and audits to ensure policies are fit for purpose and in line with employment legislation.
- Providing regular reports and analysing output related to all areas of HR policy where applicable.

About You

- Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and potential future developments.
- Excellent communication and team working skills.
- Ability to interpret and present people data and have strong IT skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, managing a wide variety of tasks, and dealing with unexpected changes at short notice.

In other organisations, this role may be known as HR Advisor, HR Adviser, or People Adviser.

Interviews will be held remotely on Microsoft Teams on 3rd and 4th September 2024.
