Infrastructure Engineer

The role:

This team are looking out for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join a forward-thinking team. Your mission will be to deliver cutting-edge Azure projects and to nurture the growth of our current infrastructure, which encompasses network, systems, telephony, and desktop platforms.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Collaborate with key suppliers to support and manage the network environment.
  • Translate business requirements into technical deliverables, staying ahead with industry trends.
  • Provide expertise in Microsoft Azure environments, as well as networking and telephony systems.
  • Maintain network security to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business systems.
  • Manage robust monitoring and alerting systems for the network.
  • Enforce and maintain a comprehensive network patching scheme.
  • Liaise with suppliers for quotations and manage enhancements and upgrades through change control.
  • Establish, update, and maintain comprehensive technical and system documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and supporting a range of IT solutions in a multi-supplier environment.
  • Ability to provide technical assurance of supplier designs and proposals.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in supporting Cloud and On Prem Services including telecoms, data networks, and Server Infrastructure Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, PowerShell, Exchange.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex IT Solutions.
  • Knowledge of network/firewall technologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products & technologies – Azure/Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint.
  • Administration experience with Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Experience with Microsoft Server Clustering, SAN, and NAS storage administration.

Permeant/ Hybrid Working 2 days per week in office/ Newcastle upon Tyne/ Monday - Friday
