Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide Strategic Communications Support and Organisational Insight
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our organisation and its operating environment.
- Provide strategic advice on communications and engagement to various teams, ensuring they are informed about the latest developments in major programmes.
- Advisory Role: Advise other stakeholders and communicators with regard to communications and messaging
- Support and advise the Communications and External Affairs team on external products, including briefings, core messaging documents, and presentations.
- Content Creation
- Assist the Communications Planning and Insights Manager and Senior Speechwriter by drafting remarks, speeches, op-eds, and editorials for various speaking engagements.
- Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the development of strategic communications plans for fiscal events, major programmes, and large-scale events.
- External Communications and Engagement Planning:
- Engagement Grid Management:
- Assisting in managing the strategic communications and engagement grid, supporting organisational planning for key announcements, publications, speeches, and events.
Planning Calendars:
- Maintain and update weekly, quarterly, and yearly communications planning calendars.
Cross-Organisation Coordination:
- Ensure our Communications Grid drives cross-organisational communications and engagement planning, maximising opportunities to engage with all audiences.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the below: -
- Proven experience in strategic communications and engagement.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Able to produce a wide range of content, including speeches on multiple channels with tight deadlines
- Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate communications experience in a large Public Sector Organisation.
