We are currently working with a world class specialist vehicle manufacturer who are developing a full range of EV Vehicles in the recruitment of a Principal Engineer - Body Structures. The main responsibilities of this role will be to create and manipulate geometry for primary communication of concepts / schemes. The Principal Engineer Body Structures will be able to demonstrate relevant engineering experience, gained from working on module area systems design & development, from concept to production

As Principal Engineer Body Structures you will be required to:
- Support the Lead Engineer, Body & Closures in all day-to-day activities
- Utilizing Catia to lead the development of the 3D models for body structures
- Engineering BoM development. Cost / weight pack development. Weight BoM management
- Design surface (CAS) feasibility 'FC' checks. Provide feasibility advice & guidance
- Engineering hard-point generation
- Benchmarking of competitor vehicles & reporting of findings
- Interface with cross functional teams (Package, Analysis, Manufacturing, DVA etc) & implement recommendations where appropriate to create a right first-time release
- Storing and releasing data into TCUA and PLM
As Principal Engineer Body Structures you will have:
- A relevant engineering qualification with proven experience in the design of body structures
- Proven experience in an automotive or motorsport applications as part of an OEM, Tier 1 or consultancy being able to use CAD (Catia)
- Experience in complete vehicle development cycle experience for body structures
