Assistant Management Accountant - 12-Month FTC (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Location: Predominantly Remote (Must be based in Dorset or Hampshire)

We are excited to be partnering with a reputable housing association and are currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, offering a fantastic opportunity to support a professional finance service in a key sector.

About the Role:

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Management Accounts team with the preparation and monitoring of budgets, processing of prepayments and other provisions, as well as producing monthly accounts. Your responsibilities will also include assisting with financial reports and providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of budgets.

Process prepayments, accruals, and other provisions as required.

Support the production of monthly management accounts.

Provide professional finance services to key stakeholders and departments.

Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes.

Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

About You:

Previous experience in a similar role within a finance function.

AAT qualified or working towards AAT or a similar finance qualification.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.

A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
