The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our moulded product designs meet the highest standards of functionality and manufacturability, delivered on time for both internal New Product Introduction (NPI) and customer-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities of this Design Engineer will be:
- Undertake various engineering tasks to ensure moulded product designs are fit for purpose and manufacturable, meeting deadlines for both internal and customer-driven projects.
- Carry out 3D CAD product development, review component and assembly tolerance requirements, and analyze tool designs and DFM reports.
- Collaborate closely with the Moulding division and our team of toolmakers.
Qualifications and Experience needed for this Design Engineer role:
- You must have experience in injection moulding design within a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of materials, process optimization, and validation of new tooling.
- Apprentice-trained or holding an equivalent qualification in Mechanical or injection moulding-specific disciplines.
- A moulding toolmaker with CAD experience, looking to expand their career into product design.
- Strong ability to work within a team and collaborate effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to work calmly under pressure.
