AIT MECHANICAL ENGINEER

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A MECHANICAL ENGINEER TO JOIN A TEAM WORKING ON THE PRODUCTION OF SATELLITES AND PAYLOADS.

  • On-site in Stevenage
  • Initial 12-month contract
  • £35ph (inside IR35)
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance is essential

WHAT WILL THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER BE DOING?

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support with writing processes, plans and procedures in 3D experience to produce satellites and payloads. The role will involve supporting hardware assembly on the Satellites such as black boxes, solar array, and structure panels.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the customisation phase starting at the project kick off
  • Creating production phase documentation, including ACS inputs and work procedures
  • Supporting the AIT Engineering team
  • Overseeing unit installation activities on the Satellites
  • Supporting quality reviews, RCAs and PFMEAs
  • Designing of tooling/build aids for assembly execution

WE NEED THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER TO HAVE...

  • High level mechanical skills
  • Appreciation of satellite integration processes and project phases
  • Experience working with SAP or other ERP System
  • Experience producing high-quality documentation (test specs, test plans, test procedures, AIT Plans, DDV plans)

  • 1 stage interview
  • Following a familiarisation period, during the preparation phase some hybrid working is permitted
  • Probable extension after initial 12-month contract duration
