Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Older People Services
Location: Barts NHS Hospital Trust
Pay Rate: £28 per hour
Pay Mechanism: Direct Engagement
Contract Duration: 28th October 2024 - 28th January 2025
Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with occasional Sunday shifts.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Older People Services team at Barts NHS Hospital Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a leadership role, managing staff, delivering quality improvement projects, and contributing to service improvements for patients with medical, trauma, frailty, and cognitive impairments. You will work with complex case management, focusing on discharge planning and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership within the NHS setting, managing staff and overseeing service delivery.
  • Lead projects focused on quality improvement and service enhancements.
  • Work with patients experiencing medical trauma, frailty, cognitive impairments, and manage complex cases.
  • Coordinate effective discharge planning and contribute to ongoing service development.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in an NHS role.
  • Staff management expertise.
  • Experience in projects, QI (Quality Improvement), and service improvement.
  • Competence in managing medical, trauma, frailty, and cognitive impairments.
  • Expertise in complex case management and discharge planning.
