Responsibilities:
As the Lead Facilities Technician, you will play a key role in managing and performing routine reactive and preventative maintenance tasks across multiple fields, including electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and fabric repairs. You will lead a multi-skilled team, collaborating closely with the Facilities Manager, Regional Engineering Manager, and on-site teams to ensure all planned reactive and preventative tasks are completed to meet service level agreements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing site technicians and planning schedulers to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
- Collaborating in cross-training initiatives to ensure team members are trained to meet legal requirements
- Maintaining records as required by operational, regulatory, and statutory practises
- Adhering to the Maintenance Management system to meet service level agreements
- Providing technical support for projects and assisting with project delivery
- Undertaking small installation works and repairs to mechanical and electrical plant and equipment
- Performing general handyman tasks to maintain buildings
- Ensuring all work orders are completed and closed down in full compliance with organisational processes
- Providing regular reports on engineering activities
- Working closely with contractors and vendors, conducting risk assessments and following safety protocols
- Collaborating with colleagues to solve problems and resolve unique situations
- Making recommendations to leverage innovations and technologies to improve site performance and maintenance practises
- Working in accordance with health and safety measures and promoting best practises
- Contributing to sustainability efforts by reducing utility consumption across the site
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a Multi Skilled Building Services Maintenance Role
- Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System for managing Preventative Planned Maintenance
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong knowledge of facilities management and customer service principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Technical qualification and/or trade licence
- Preferred qualifications: Electrical - RECI Testing and Verification; Mechanical - Commercial Gas/LPG, F Gas - City & Guilds 2079; Others - Issuing Permit to Work - AE - AP Experience, Safepass
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in plumbing maintenance and repair
- Knowledge of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and building alarm contacts
- Previous experience in working within sustainability initiatives
Technologies:
- Proficiency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
- Sound knowledge of relevant mechanical and electrical technologies
