Responsibilities:

As the Lead Facilities Technician, you will play a key role in managing and performing routine reactive and preventative maintenance tasks across multiple fields, including electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and fabric repairs. You will lead a multi-skilled team, collaborating closely with the Facilities Manager, Regional Engineering Manager, and on-site teams to ensure all planned reactive and preventative tasks are completed to meet service level agreements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing site technicians and planning schedulers to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
  • Collaborating in cross-training initiatives to ensure team members are trained to meet legal requirements
  • Maintaining records as required by operational, regulatory, and statutory practises
  • Adhering to the Maintenance Management system to meet service level agreements
  • Providing technical support for projects and assisting with project delivery
  • Undertaking small installation works and repairs to mechanical and electrical plant and equipment
  • Performing general handyman tasks to maintain buildings
  • Ensuring all work orders are completed and closed down in full compliance with organisational processes
  • Providing regular reports on engineering activities
  • Working closely with contractors and vendors, conducting risk assessments and following safety protocols
  • Collaborating with colleagues to solve problems and resolve unique situations
  • Making recommendations to leverage innovations and technologies to improve site performance and maintenance practises
  • Working in accordance with health and safety measures and promoting best practises
  • Contributing to sustainability efforts by reducing utility consumption across the site

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in a Multi Skilled Building Services Maintenance Role
  • Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System for managing Preventative Planned Maintenance
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management and customer service principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Technical qualification and/or trade licence

- Preferred qualifications: Electrical - RECI Testing and Verification; Mechanical - Commercial Gas/LPG, F Gas - City & Guilds 2079; Others - Issuing Permit to Work - AE - AP Experience, Safepass

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in plumbing maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and building alarm contacts
  • Previous experience in working within sustainability initiatives

Technologies:

  • Proficiency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Sound knowledge of relevant mechanical and electrical technologies
