Your new company
You will be working for this large and integral public sector organisation in a busy role, where the team is responsible for a budget of £300m. You will help provide key financial planning services for the directorate, supporting and challenging teams in equal measure. This will allow the business to make informed management decisions based on the timely and accurate financial information supplied. This role is available on a 12 month fixed-term contract basis.
Your new role
Within this varied role you will be responsible for; providing periodic financial information, including a reporting pack with full commentary on the financial performance, attending team meetings, taking a lead on the presentation of financial information, preparing and developing the annual budgets and business plans and liaising with the business to ensure any future changes are included in the forecasts and budgets.
In addition, you will maintain and develop financial controls to ensure maximum value for money is obtained, ensuring compliance with authority limits. You will also assist the financial planning manager / finance controller with ad-hoc projects.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACAS, ACCA, CIMA) and will have good knowledge of IFRS. You will be able to work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage stakeholders at a range of levels. Previous experience of management, accounting OR finance business partnering is also key. You will have excellent IT skills along with report writing and presentation skills.
