Job Title: Early Years Assistant (SEN Experience)Location: GloucesterContract Type: Temporary, part-time
Role Overview:
As an Early Years Assistant with SEN experience, you will play a crucial role in supporting two pupils in their learning and development. You'll work closely with our teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to create a nurturing and stimulating environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support for children with special educational needs (SEN) during activities, play, and learning sessions.
  • Observation and Assessment: Monitor and assess children's progress, identifying any additional support needs.
  • Individualised Plans: Collaborate with SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for children with SEN.
  • Inclusion: Promote an inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported.
  • Communication: Regularly communicating with parents, sharing progress and strategies for supporting their child's development.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and secure environment for all children.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Experience: At least 40 days of experience working with children, including SEN support, in the last 5 years
  • Knowledge: Understanding of SEN best practices and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
  • Clearance: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
