Zachary Daniels Recruitment is delighted to be supporting this global retail giant in the appointment of a new Group Head of Procurement Supply Chain.

This fantastic opportunity sits as part of the senior Procurement function and reporting into the Group Procurement Director with an annual spend of c.€100m.

The ideal candidate will be senior level professional responsible for overseeing and managing the specific category (Supply Chain) of services within the Group.

This role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, sourcing, cost optimization, sustainability and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. As Group Head of Procurement your role will be crucial in driving efficiency, innovation, and value within your assigned procurement category by leveraging a team of 4-10 people.

Reporting to the Group Procurement Director, a significant part of this role will be to identify opportunities to generate efficiencies and improve cost control by implementing robust procurement processes and contracts. The incumbent will conduct the end-to-end procurement and vendor management across the business.

Please also note that this role will involve a reasonable amount of European travel to ensure visibility and best practice across the group estate.

To be considered for this role you must be able to display the following:

  • Proven track record of operating at Head of (or similar) Procurement level ideally within an FMCG/Retail business with a robust background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimisation
  • Commercial negotiation experience with a track record delivering cost savings, service improvements, and supplier innovation.
  • Knowledge of procurement excellence including process technology supporting procurement activities, ethical code.
  • Effective & successful team management in order to achieve procurement goals, negotiation favourable contracts, and implementing innovative strategic within the particular category
  • Knowledge of ESG regulation and requirements
  • Effective usage of ERP and procurement systems in order to support spend control and deliver saving
  • University Degree.
  • Member of Procurement bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement specialists (CIPS) or equivalent

The successful candidate can expect an 6 figure basic salary with additional performance related bonus, car allowance, pension, healthcare and wide ranging company benefits.
