The company
One of the UK's largest steel processing manufacturers are now looking for an experienced Transport Manager to become an integral part of their operation. Located in Dudley, you'll be reporting directly into the General Manager, contributing to the success of a company with a strong commitment to growth and innovation.
The role
A Transport Manager is now required to lead the planning and day-to-day management of all subcontracted operations as the company exclusively rely on external subcontractors having no in house fleet.
You will take responsibility for:
- Managing external subcontractors
- Coordinating Production
- Nominated 'O' License Holder
- Maximising Load capacity and using the company's network to maximise routes - Backloads etc
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
- Transport Manager CPC qualification
- Experience dealing with Subcontractors.
- Understanding of back loads.
- Good Commercial Awareness.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
- Experience within 3PL is advantageous
- Operator's Licence
