Senior IT Lead – Digital Product Manager - Job Description:

The primary role of the Senior IT Lead – Digital Product Manageris to manage all desktop resources, ensuring the provision of hardware and software meets the current and future needs of the Commission. You will provide 1st and 2nd line support for users, resolve problems, and support the maintenance of the virtual desktop infrastructure.

Senior IT Lead – Digital Product Manager - Key Responsibilities:

Business Delivery:

  • Assist in the daily operation of a busy IT Service Desk, supporting approximately 250 staff across 4 sites, including home workers
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support and an escalation route to all Commission staff, ensuring agreed issue resolution targets are met
  • Identify and implement improvements to digital products proactively
  • Engage with users to understand requirements and identify development opportunities
  • Collaborate with Senior IT Leads to develop technical proposals for improvements based on business needs and project requirements
  • Recommend equipment, services, training, and solutions to improve IT service effectiveness and efficiency
  • Report regularly to the Senior IT Lead on desktop issues and manage suppliers of desktop and communication services
  • Maintain high-standard documentation
  • Contribute to business planning for ICT and IM teams
  • Manage the IT Service Desk and IT Asset Register, Contract management, and Software licenses, ensuring complete and useful records are maintained

Product Delivery:

  • Oversee the vision and lifecycle of digital products, from inception to launch, in line with the digital strategy
  • Provide technical training to staff and Commissioners
  • Work with internal users to test and refine recommendations, ensuring user engagement
  • Use expert technical knowledge to work with suppliers on the procurement of new digital products
  • Collaborate with colleagues across DDTF to ensure product changes are efficient, secure, user-friendly, and meet organisational governance and business needs

Information Management & AI:

  • Collaborate with the Information Management team to collect and organise relevant data through applications such as Purview
  • Implement AI systems like Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Priva, and Microsoft CoPilot
  • Develop and implement Microsoft Priva to modernise privacy operations and streamline compliance
  • Implement Identity Management processes and procedures
  • Leverage AI through Microsoft CoPilot to boost productivity and information understanding

Staff Management:

  • Provide effective line management to IT Officer(s) (Service Desk Analyst)
  • Conduct the Commission's performance management scheme effectively and on time
  • Identify learning and development needs and ensure delivery
  • Provide mentoring and support as required
  • Manage staff attendance

Key Working Relationships:

  • Work closely with the Senior IT Lead (Service Desk and Communications) for technical advice
  • Maintain a good relationship with the Senior IT Officer lead (Infrastructure) for project development and delivery
  • Collaborate with team members providing application support to ensure integration and specifications meet business needs
  • Engage with staff across all Commission offices, home workers, and Commissioners, providing advice and support tailored to their IT expertise level
  • Maintain good working relationships with external support providers and contractors
