Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, patient-focused care within their team or area of responsibility, ensuring that all resources are used to optimum effect and maintaining the highest patient care standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage your own workload in a designated highly specialist area without supervision, using all necessary knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Demonstrate complex communication and relationship skills, promoting and maintaining effective liaison within the Unit team and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure the health and safety of all staff, patients, and visitors, reporting all incidents, accidents, or near misses to the team leader. Document and monitor the safe use of equipment and economic use of supplies.
- Provide accurate and timely collection and submission of Theatre activity data using manual and computerized systems.
- Ensure safe, quality care is provided for patients within the Unit as per Trust and Unit policies.
- Maintain an understanding of and adhere to all Trust and Unit policies and procedures, ensuring attendance at mandatory annual training (e.g., Fire, Manual Handling, CPR).
- Understand Risk Management and participate in identifying and analyzing risk.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Operating Department Practice (or equivalent) or RGN with relevant Anaesthetic Qualification, if applicable.
- ODP / RGN with Anaesthetic / Recovery experience.
- Commitment to maintaining your skills and standard of care.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
