Site Financial Controller

The Company:

We are recruiting for a well-established manufacturing business based in Derbyshire. Operating in a profitable, low volume niche market they are experiencing sequential years of growth in Turnover and Profitability.

The Opportunity:

This is a newly created Site Financial Controller role due to consistent business growth and the need to create effective succession planning within the organisation. The Site Financial Controller role reports directly to the site General Manager, with a dotted line to the CFO and will give the right candidate the opportunity to progress with the business. This is a very fast paced business and will require a highly motivated and career focused individual who is able to succeed in their core role whilst managing multiple business improvement projects in support of the local Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of financial analysis and business partnering to the Site Management Team
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet variance analysis
  • Production of weekly and monthly management information and the development of improved KPI reporting and value-added insight and analysis
  • Cash flow, working capital management and transfer pricing
  • Assist with preparing year-end statutory accounts, working with external auditors and tax authorities
  • Preparation of standard costing information and analysis
  • Promote process and efficiency improvements exploring opportunities for automation

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA accountant with experience gained in the manufacturing sector
  • Excellent technical accounting, reporting and forecasting skills
  • Very strong communication skills with the desire to get involved in cross functional projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to challenge and manage upwards effectively
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and ERP/MRP systems
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to understand the day-to-day operations and provide a value-added finance business partnering service
  • You must be a proactive individual able to operate in a challenging and high-pressure environment
