About Us:
We are a small, friendly, and established primary school located in the South Rotherham area, easily accessible by public transport. Our school community is known for its warm and caring environment, where every child is valued, and learning is tailored to meet individual needs. We are committed to supporting the development and progress of our pupils, ensuring they achieve their full potential.

The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team, working with our Year 3 class. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils who are tracking behind expected progress, particularly in English and Maths. This will involve leading small group interventions, helping to close the attainment gap, and ensuring that all pupils are able to achieve success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to key pupils in English and Maths, focusing on those who require additional help to meet their learning goals.
  • Plan and deliver small group interventions, working closely with the class teacher to align these with the overall curriculum.
  • Assist in the assessment of pupils' progress, providing feedback to the class teacher to inform future planning.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel supported and encouraged.
  • Support the class teacher with general classroom duties, including preparation of resources and supervision of pupils as needed.

About You:

  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a Year 3 setting.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly in English and Maths.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and welcoming school community.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • A chance to make a real impact on the educational outcomes of our pupils.
  • Good public transport links, making commuting straightforward.

How to Apply:
If you are passionate about education and are excited about the opportunity to support our Year 3 pupils in their learning journey, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV detailing your full career history and qualifications for the role.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
