Job Description:
At Tradewind, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our schools in September 2024. The successful candidate will work closely with a pupil who has global developmental delay, supporting their learning and development in a full-time capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with global developmental delay.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored educational plans.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Monitor and record the progress of students, adapting support as necessary.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Support students with personal care needs as required.
- Encourage social interaction and help develop communication skills.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with global developmental delay.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN qualifications) are desirable but not essential.
