Chief Executive Officer (SfE)

Posted by Moon Executive Search.

Moon Executive Search is delighted to be retained search partners to Society for Endocrinology (SfE) as we bring to market their prestigious CEO opportunity for the first time in almost 10 years.

As a membership organisation, SfE has an impressive history of over 70 years supporting scientists, clinicians, nurses and associated healthcare professionals who work with hormones throughout their careers. They also engage policymakers, journalists, patients and the public with hormone science to encourage informed health decisions, and to demonstrate the value of endocrinology to the wider world.

Their story started with the launch of the Journal of Endocrinology and subsequently established Bioscientifica Ltd in 1996 as its trading subsidiary. As such, the CEO is also Managing Director of Bioscientifica Ltd and therefore responsible for ensuring that both components of SfE Group fulfil their charitable and commercial objectives, and work co-operatively.

For this exciting and unique opportunity, we are seeking a visionary leader with fresh ideas who is forward-thinking and can help deliver their ambitious plans by leading from the front to drive sustainability and impact. The incoming CEO will formulate and successfully implement SfE strategy and policy, directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of Bioscientifica Ltd, whilst ensuring robust operational planning, governance and financial control systems.

Candidates should bring demonstrable national-level expertise in charity governance and/or academic publishing (science, medicine etc.,) with the ability to spearhead and inspire confidence at all levels, both internally and externally. They will be fully accountable to the Council and the Bioscientifica Ltd board for all Group operations and ensure commercial and business development approaches are stretching, innovative and reflect longer-term Group objectives.

If you are interested in applying for the position, please submit by email your CV or biography together with a short Expression of Interest (EoI), explaining your motivations in applying for the role and any relevant information supporting your application.

To ensure fairness, any decision to shortlist any applicant for initial telephone screening will be based solely on the information provided in the CV and EoI. Therefore, it is important that applicants give as much information as possible regarding why they wish to apply and what they think makes them a suitable applicant.

All CVs received will be passed to Moon Executive Search for consideration.

Closing date: 23.59 on Sunday 29th September 2024.

Society of Endocrinology are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all team members feel valued, respected and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.

Moon Executive Search is an equal opportunities employer and on behalf of Society for Endocrinology welcomes applications from all areas of society.
