Head of Staircasing and Resales

It's an exciting time to join us as Sovereign have joined forces with Network Homes to form Sovereign Network Group (SNG). Together we provide over 84,000 homes and invest in communities across London and the South of England.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Staircasing and Resales to join our Sales division at SNG on a Full Time Permanent basis. Based from either our Wembley or Bristol offices, this role will require regular travel to these offices in addition to our Head Office in Basingstoke. You will be expected to be in the offices a minimum of 2 days per week (Days vary by office).

You will be responsible for a expert Staircasing & Resales team (2 Direct reports and 8-15 indirect reports) and accountable for all Staircasing & Resales activity across SNG, optimising capital release for SNG and driving higher revenue in line with business plans.

The Role

With the continued growth and success of the SNG's shared ownership sales, we are now looking to expand our Staircasing and Resales programme to help even more of our existing shared owners own more of their home.

The Head of Staircasing & Resales is a fantastic opportunity to drive additional growth and success from two already well performing teams. Working within the Sales & Marketing team, you will have responsibility for all staircasing and resales activity within SNG.

Using your sales and leadership skills, you will be responsible for marketing strategy, sales initiatives, and collaborative working across the business to increase the volume of home ownership within our existing customer base.

Responsibilities Include

  • Responsible for leading and maintaining departmental wide regulatory, Homes England/GLA and legislative compliance relevant to Staircasing and Resales transactions
  • Effectively manage resales and interim staircasing caseloads and performance within teams to ensure staircasing and resales targets are met
  • Establish a good knowledge of the property sales market in all SNG regions and provide informative and meaningful analysis to help plan our business activities and income forecasts accordingly
  • Analyse sales performance and make recommendations as required to ensure sales performance is aligned to agreed budgets and targets and corrective action is taken when required
  • Lead two regional teams, articulating a clear vision and fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement
  • Facilitate connections between the Regional Sales Teams and Specialist Customer Teams to drive positive collaboration and knowledge sharing

What we're looking for

You will need strong leadership skills and a proven track record in sales, leasehold experience is an advantage but it not essential, if you have a successful career in Estate Agency or New Homes in a senior leadership position, your experience will still be relevant.

  • Experience of Housing Association Resales sales processes and regulations of working in the social housing sector
  • Exceptional team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Experience of legal, finance and sales in the Housing sector
  • A flexible but pragmatic approach to problem solving and committed to taking the initiative to achieve practical solutions.
  • Financially literate with knowledge of budget setting and forecasting
