Management Accountant - 12 month fixed term - Aberdeen Region - up to 60k
As Management Accountant you will take responsibility for project accounting, control and reporting across the business, supporting Cost Controllers and Project Managers across the business at all stages of the project life cycle.
Duties
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all accounting information. implementing new control procedures to manage cost allocation and cost reporting.
- In conjunction with the Cost Controller, validate project cost and revenue accruals.
- Develop financial reporting to track financial performance against expected profitability.
- Produce high quality analysis and interpretation of variances between planned and unplanned income and expenditure.
- Manage the client invoicing process including billing and collation / review of any necessary evidence.
- Produce an executive summary for all projects, including identification of opportunities for additional billings.
- Assist in preparation of bi-monthly flash forecast for Sales and forecasted profitability.
- Prepare quarterly forecasts / budgets to include revenue, profit and cash-flow targets with Cost Controllers / Project Managers and Division Directors.
- Manage project debtor position on a weekly basis in conjunction with Credit Control.
- Act as the focal point for all financial matters relating to the project, and primary point of contact with Cost Controller / Project Manager.
- Close out Project accounts upon project completion, prepare close off financials for final project review.
- Compile information for internal/external auditors.
The ideal Management Accountant will be a part or fully qualified accountant with previous project accounting / business partnering experience from within heavy industry (Engineering, Oil & Gas, Defence, Construction or Manufacturing). Experience of using Sage would be an advantage albeit not critical.
This is a hybrid working position with an expectation to be on site 2-3 days per week.
