Logistics Administrator

We are seeking a proactive, efficient and approachable team player to join an existing Transport Team.

The right candidate must be computer literate with Outlook, Word and Excel, having excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. You'll be a fantastic communicator and not afraid to strike up conversations with anyone and everyone, a great team player with a positive "can do" attitude, not afraid to get stuck in and carry out daily tasks.

  • 37.5 hrs Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

  • Processing sales orders and inputting data accurately.
  • Support with the preparation and control of customs paperwork using HMRC software package.
  • Prepare export documentation for goods shipments, liaising with transport providers and the operational warehouse team to collate the relevant information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with the scheduling of loads and/or collections and completion of a booking-in schedule.
  • Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate product despatches.
  • Monitor shipment statuses and communicate proactively with customers regarding despatch details.
  • Process return requests in accordance with company policies.
  • Communicate with customers to guide them through the returns process and address any concerns.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with all key internal stakeholders, working proactively with them to ensure effective delivery of goods.
  • Reconciling and verifying the receipt of documents, proof of Export/Import documentation.
  • Manage and control all deliveries for each warehouse, working with both warehouse and purchasing to ensure optimal operational efficiencies.
  • Liaise with external hauliers, resolving any customer queries, obtaining POD's for deliveries, lost parcels, insurance claims etc.
  • Using customer portals and online management tools to ensure on time, in full delivery of goods in compliance with customer requirements and SLA targets.
  • Produce KPI's
  • Any other duties which may arise.

Desired candidate attributes

  • A good knowledge of Excel spread sheets and web based systems.
  • Good communication skills, using both telephone and email, providing support to both internal and external customers.
  • Confident individual who can challenge when the need arises and at the appropriate level.
  • Reliable in approach to work and adaptable to fit into different teams and environments.
  • Highly organised, self-sufficient and able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
  • Be able to work well under pressure.
  • Basic understanding of driver hours and working time directive would be an advantage.
  • A good geographical knowledge of the UK would be an advantage.

Some transport office experience would be an advantage but full training will be given
