Senior Governance Officer
Temporary 3-6 Month Contract
£19.74 per hour

I am working with a local council who are searching for multiple Senior Governance Officers to join their team.
The Senior Governance Officer forms part of the Councils Committee, which is the heart of the decision-making process. This is a key role to support the meetings of the Councils
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for timetabling, servicing and coordinating the work of meetings of Cabinet, Committees and any other sub-committees and panels.
- Preparation of Agendas for the meetings - involving collation and checking of material and writing reports
- Provide guidance and legal advice at each meeting
- Represent the departments at meetings and briefings
- Taking minutes during meetings
- Be the first point of contact for elected Members in their first weeks as a Councillor
- Utilise the report management system to support with decision making
- Develop, review and maintain guides and protocol relating to the democratic process
- Maintain awareness of emerging legislation that could effect the Council's decision making
Your Experience:
- 3 years experience of managing and providing administration support to committees
- Experience working with Elected Members
- Experience working with the councils legislation and relevant guidance
