The Company
Our client are a civil engineering contractor who cover Kent, Sussex, London, Essex and beyond. This contractor deal with all aspects of civil engineering - highways, bridges, infrastructure, groujndworks, frames and special works and therefore we are looking for an Estimator, with a mixed civils background.
The Role
- Preparations of estimates and quotations
- Undertaking take offs and schedule of rates to produce tenders
- Preparation of tender submission letters
- Attending client visits and making after care calls
- Ensuring that tender lists are updated regularly, ensuring that cost of labour, plant and materials is outlined
- Attending pre and post contract interviews
- Preparing specifications and enquiries for material, plant and sub-contract procurement
- Preparing documents and information for site teams
- Producing tender reports
- Undertaking site measurements
About you
- Experienced in Civil Engineering estimating
- Understanding the different methods of measuring
- Technical skills in organising, planning and prioritising
- Use of online estimating software
- Budgeting and cash flow forecasts
- Good understanding of Risk Assessments, Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate in all Microsoft packages and experienced in estimating packages
- Good at creating relationships with customers, clients, supply chains and internal departments, ensuring that you understand their needs to then be able to deliver
- Customer focused
- Excellent time management
