Our client based on the outskirts of St Ives (Cambridgeshire) are looking for a Delivery Assistant to join their growing team. They are a small, family run business who have been through a recent period of growth due to a very successful 2023! Responsibilities: Assist the Driver with routing the following scheduled delivery day. Assist the Driver with loading and conducting customer deliveries ensuring you are a fantastic ambassador for the business. Submit Proof of delivery using the Transport PDA in line with company guidelines. Conduct courtesy calls (where applicable) with our customers on the day of delivery, using the company PDA Answering phone calls by customers or members of staff. On longer driving days, drive the company vehicle in line with driving and traffic regulations ensuring the image of the business is at the forefront of everything you do Assist in the cleaning and upkeep of the company vehicle Assist the Warehouse team with Labelling and put away of the products delivered into the Warehouse. Assist the Warehouse team pick customer orders ahead of the next scheduled delivery day. There is an expectation that you would take on daily tasks in the Delivery Drivers absence, such as: Drive the company vehicle in line with driving and traffic regulations ensuring the image of the business is at the forefront of everything you do. Unload, check, and complete a customer delivery ensuring the customer is happy that the products are present, correct, and stored to their requirements. Occasionally assist the Warehouse team with Labelling and put away of the products delivered into the Warehouse. Carry out daily / weekly visual checks on your delivery vehicle. During any down time' ensure the vehicle is clean, tidy, and presentable. If applicable, assist the Warehouse team to pre-pick orders ahead of the next scheduled delivery day. Skills & Experience required: Full UK Driving license (with 3 points of less) Previous experience working in a driving/warehouse role is desirable but not essential Good level of physical fitness IT Literate Excellent presentation and time keeping Working Hours & Salary: 07:30 until 17:00 Monday to Friday £26,500 per annum Benefits: Uniform and PPE provided.
