GI Group are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our clients friendly team on a permanent basis. This is a full time permanent position direct with our client from day one. With over 37 years experience of the industry, this company is rapidly expanding with unmatched service as their key to success. The successful candidate will have previous supervisor experience, however for the right candidate full training will be provided. Working Hours: Monday - Friday. 8:00am - 5:00pm - with a 1 hour lunch break. Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 - Depending on experience. Duties include but are not limited to: Overseeing receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. Implementing operational policies and procedures. Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities. Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods. Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met. Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate. Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded along with training and recruitment requirements. Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely. Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided. Skill Requirements: Forklift licence for Reach and/or Counterbalance. Numeracy and an understanding of finance for stock management. People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas. Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse along with procedure and policy.
