Job Description: Job Title Model Validation Manager Location London Corporate Title Vice President The Model Risk Management (MoRM) team provides independent oversight and governance of model analytics and their implementation into the risk architecture that drive valuation, risk and stress results. The algorithmic trading model validation team is responsible for the independent review and validation of models used within bank's algorithmic trading business across all asset classes. In the role you will independently review, analyse, validate and generate reports on a wide range of models in the bank's algo trading activities. As part of your role, you will be involved in innovative projects of building an automated test/analytics module and a monitoring tool for performance of trading algorithms and AI/ML models using open source tools (Jupyter notebook, Plotly/Dash). Active participation in technical training of junior team members and overseeing their model validation work. Perform model validation testing and derive conclusions leading to proper assessment of the model risk involved. The study the mathematical models used, implementation methods, products traded in these markets, and the associated risks. Present outcomes from reviews and studies in high quality reports to key model stakeholders, senior management and regulatory bodies Your skills and experience PhD qualification in numerate subject such as Mathematics, Physics or computer science. Exceptionally strong candidates with MSc/MPhil post-graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience will also be considered. Experience in technical Model Validation team or Front Office Quant role - preferably in the AI/ML or algo trading space. You have highly analytical skills, deep understanding of mathematical/statistical models and their implementation in finance. Experience to most recent advances in AI is a bonus. Experience in scientific programming and data visualization in Python or R. Opportunity to work for a leading and well established medical diagnostic company. They are seeking a dynamic individual to undertake validation activities relating to gel electrophoresis product development in a timely and efficient manner as directed by the New Product Development Manager and with reference to the appropriate procedures / guidelines. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Testing of gel electrophoresis products according to pre-assigned testing and validation protocols, identifying and investigating any detrimental trends via good attention to detail and root cause analysis. Documentation of all test work according to GMP/GLP standards. Creation of new and update of existing validation protocols in line with updates to international regulations. Creation and maintenance of technical documentation relating to regulatory submissions. Routine maintenance of laboratory instrumentation. To develop, maintain and apply in-depth theoretical electrophoresis knowledge to support routine and novel research and development opportunities. Person Specification BSc in Biomedical Sciences or similar Electrophoresis experience This vacancy is permanent, full time Monday to Friday (daytime hours) and based at their site in Sunderland.
