We are looking for an experienced and motivated Training and Employment Coordinator to join our team inYouth Justice Service. The role is based in Ipswich, Suffolk. You will join us on a full time, Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 month. (37 hours per week - Flexible working options available). As the Lead Education Training and Employment Coordinator within the Suffolk Youth Justice Service, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes, Educational Psychologists, Social Workers, Police Officers, Practitioners, Probation Officers, Speech and Language Therapists, Substance Misuse Workers and Mental Health Professionals. Responsibilities as our Training and Employment Coordinator: You will work with colleagues across Suffolk County Council to ensure that every child open to our service receives their full entitlement to education and has the opportunity to fulfil their unique potential. You will utilise your communication skills to hear the voice of the child and ensure this is effectively communicated to colleagues and professionals working with the child and their family. As part of your role you will oversee the work of the Education Training and Employment Coordinators in locality teams and attend countywide meetings relating to children open to the service. You will also to build relationships with local education providers and attend multi-agency meetings to improve and re-establish children's engagement with education, employment and training. What we're looking for in our Training and Employment Coordinator: Experience working with children and families within education and children's services Experience of line management A positive can do' approach to working with families and partner agencies A high level of knowledge and experience of working with children with SEND and their families An ability to hit the ground running within the role, bringing transferable skills that will strengthen and improve the existing skills in the team A minimum of GSCE Maths and English or equivalent, alongside a relevant degree/level 6 qualification or equivalent experience. To work with employers to find out what their business needs are and focus matching students to employers. Conduct meaningful reviews are conducted as in-line within the review procedure and they are appropriately documented To ensure students maintain a learning diary of work experience and progression activity to show distance travelled Remain in regular contact with placement contacts to ensure issues are dealt with efficiently, and provide excellent levels of customer service Conduct workplace attendance checks/registers Information, Advice and Guidance: Assist and empower students to fulfil their potential by increasing expectations and raising aspirations.
