Design and Technology Teacher - September - Bolton We are specifically working with a popular secondary school in Bolton, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to source them a qualified teacher of Design and Technology key stage 3 & 4 from September, on a full time ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis. You will be required to become fully immersed in the school & department, attend departmental meetings and be available for parents evenings as and when required. As well as delivering lessons that are both engaging and academically appropriate to stretch the students in the classes. The department has several specialist kitchens for food technology and workshops for Product Design and Textiles. This is a brilliant chance to get involved in a school that puts the students first with a warm, happy, and safe environment. The staff and students have a sense of pride in their diverse culture and celebrate this with a culture day, which focuses on the different backgrounds that make their community better. The students take on extra responsibility demonstrating their maturity. This includes school council, being a prefect or a librarian. The school also has a strong community spirit with a community fridge, which connects them with the wider area. The leaders of the school constantly raise their expectations of students which has created an improvement across the school. The student also supports its staff in all aspects with CPD to make sure they are always developing. The role will be open to newly qualified teachers (ECT) as well as teachers who have more experience, we pay from M1 to M6 (sometimes we can also pay through threshold if you have done so, depending on the role). Desired fields of knowledge are: Product Design and Resistant Materials. PGCE and QTS in Design and Technology. Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference). Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided). Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided). Up to date behaviour management & FGM training in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided).
