Perform client account bank reconciliations, handle disbursements, and manage drafts and completions. Process client Bacs payments and manage banking activities. Deal with client account receipts, cheque requests, and other client postings, including write-offs for abortive transactions. Handle allocations, telegraphic transfers and maintain accurate filing systems. Archiving matters with zero balances for all Departments; Reconciliation of client matters for both office and client ledgers; Office and client account banking and processing; Process client and office account payments by BACS/CHAPS; Core Values IT literate and willing to learn new processes. Our client is an established Legal 500 Essex legal firm, with experience and expertise in all areas of the law They are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier, on short- term 12-month contract, providing maternity cover, there may be an opportunity to offer a permanent position after the 12 months. Experience in a legal account setting and a working knowledge of the SRA accounts rules is preferable. Processing bills, including checking to ledgers Client to office transfers Accurate and timely processing of client and office account payments, cheque production and telegraphic transfers via electronic banking Legal aid postings Checking and balancing client completion statements/probate statements Interest calculations Checking compliance with the money laundering regulations when processing transactions Assisting with daily bank reconciliations and reviewing outstanding receipts Accurate and timely processing of client and office account payments, cheque production and telegraphic transfers via electronic banking Petty cash Processing and paying expenses.
