A leading law firm are seeking a Senior Asset, Trade & Energy Finance Associate to join their growing practice in their London office. The asset, trade and energy finance (ATEF) group covers a range of areas of specialised finance, including asset finance (particularly in respect of aviation finance), trade and commodity finance, asset-based lending, project finance and export finance. The Role The successful candidate will advise on a variety of structured commodity finance transactions, receivables and supply-chain finance deals as well as transactions involving the use of trade finance instruments. You will connect with colleagues throughout the firm globally and manage international transactions to meet clients' needs. This role presents fantastic long term career prospects for the right candidate. You will build client relationships, contribute to business development and thought leadership, mentor more junior colleagues. Required Experience, Skills, and Attributes Extensive, in-depth knowledge of a variety of structured commodity finance structures including borrowing base facilities, pre-export financings and pre-payment/advance payment transactions. Experience in advising on receivables based financings, including supply chain financing. Experience and familiarity with trade instruments, including in respect of governing rules such as UCP600, ISP98, URDG 758, etc. You will ideally have experience of working with international clients. About the Team The team have knowledge advising on complex disputes and transactions through local knowledge and an integrated international network. They have a strong sector focus, combining technical excellence with deep industry knowledge across energy, transport and associated infrastructure. The team is particularly strong in London, New York, Paris, Greece and Hamburg, which enables them to advise on all aspects of cross-border asset financings between the respective jurisdictions. With one of the largest dedicated asset finance legal practices in the world, they have a presence in all the major asset finance centres and have over 100 specialist Lawyers across their international offices. They advise on all aspects of asset financing including: export credit backed financing; syndicated and bilateral debt; project and asset financing; advising on distressed asset finance transactions; tax planning and structuring; maximising NPV benefits and minimising risk for lessees; reducing credit and structure risk for lessors; cross border leasing; off-balance sheet structures; defeasance arrangements; operating leases; sale and purchase of leasing companies; sale and purchase of lease and shipping portfolios; vendor leasing documentation including lease/rental agreements and programme agreements receivables financing; currency swaps and other hedging arrangements; asset sale and purchase; insurance issues.
