Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Rehab team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and deliver personalized therapy services to children and young people, supporting their rehabilitation and enhancing their independence. This is a permanent position, though we are open to considering qualified locum candidates as well. Key Responsibilities Assessment & Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify each child's specific rehabilitation needs, developing individualized care plans. Therapeutic Intervention: Deliver a range of occupational therapy interventions focused on enhancing functional independence, motor skills, cognitive abilities, and overall quality of life. Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, speech therapists, and educators, to deliver integrated, family-centered care. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, progress, and outcomes in accordance with The Children's Trust guidelines. Education & Support: Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies, enabling continuity of care at home and within the community. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development, contributing to best practices within the Rehab team. Person Specification Essential Requirements: Degree in Occupational Therapy Current HCPC registration Previous experience working as a Band 6 OT, ideally within a rehabilitation or paediatric setting Excellent assessment, planning, and organizational skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, and team members Desirable Attributes: Experience working with children with brain injuries or complex needs Knowledge of paediatric rehabilitation techniques Evidence of continuing professional development Why Join Us?
