Transport Manager - Coryton Salary c£49k, plus London Weighting Allowance and excellent benefits We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager for our Coryton site, in Essex. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the management team, leading, motivating, and managing staff and drivers to execute delivery schedules for the distribution of gas supplies. Key Responsibilities: Manage checks and controls to uphold fleet safety and reliability, collaborating closely with vehicle maintenance service providers to minimize downtime. Understand and implement relevant legislation and standards, liaise with internal specialists and regulatory authorities, and continuously improve safety performance. Maintain strict security of property and products, including serving as an emergency call-out key holder and attending call-outs when required. Utilise working knowledge of relevant legislation, safety, quality procedures, and site operating instructions. Deliver regular company briefings on Safety and Performance to all employees. Ensure sites under your control are maintained in line with company policies and external regulatory authorities. Budgeting and Expenditure: Work with senior management to prepare budgets and manage expenditure within specified parameters. Prioritise the customer in decision-making processes and ensure employees are trained to deliver excellent customer service in all areas of the cylinder and bulk business. Lead the dispatching and scheduling functions for the area, ensuring all planned delivery schedules consider driver and vehicle compliance with relevant transport regulations. Coach, mentor, and plan appropriate training and development for all staff and drivers. Conduct performance reviews in line with company procedures to create a robust and efficient operation that meets financial targets and KPIs. We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and experience: Proven skills in people management and leadership. Ability to organize resources according to customer needs and company service levels through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Sound working knowledge of current transport regulations and directives. Ideally, a minimum of 3 years' experience at management or supervisory level in a service-oriented environment, with financial experience preferred. Knowledge of current employment legislation. ADR certificate or experience with hazardous goods is preferred. Formal safety qualification preferred (e.g., IOSHH, NEBOSH). Must Possession of a Transport Management CPC, Essential. Ability to use company software packages, including TrakM8, Trutac Paragon, and SAP, to enhance service delivery, improve driver performance, and provide the best possible customer experience. Transport Manager Thame £40,000-£50,000 PA 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday Permanent Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager for a British based industrial gas company, who are the largest provider of industrial, medical and special gases in the UK & Ireland. The purpose of this position is to manage a team of 20-30 drivers, ensuring that key service indicators and cost targets are achieved.
