About you Applicants ideally will have completed a level 3 toolmaking/engineering-based apprenticeship and have at least 5 years' experience working within a toolmaking role. Tool Maker Corby Hours - Monday to Friday 1400-2200 hrs Salary - £35,000pa Our established client based in Corby is recruiting a Tool Maker on a permanent basis to be responsible for the procurement, issuance, maintenance, setting and organised storage of all tooling requirements for the metal forming department (coiled, slotted and solid pins) RESPONSIBILITIES: Preparing tools required for set-ups on all metal forming equipment. Order tools as required; obtain pricing from external vendors and approval from supervisor, and acknowledgement date. Inspect tools received to ensure conformance to specification, reject nonconforming tools. Store all tools in an organised manner utilising storage cabinets and shelf units if required. Proper tracking of all tools, whether in stock or in use at machines. Monitor all gauges and submit for calibration when due. Maintenance of tool drawing notebooks to facilitate easy retrieval by shop personnel. Operate within tooling budget guidelines. Inspect tools returned prior to storage, if rework/replacement is required, initiate it. Follow-up on all open tool orders with vendors on a regular basis to ensure that tools ordered are delivered on time. If necessary, obtain revised order date. Review schedule of upcoming jobs to assure that tools will be available for all production jobs as required. Ensure that up to date tool drawings are available to set-up mechanics as required. Maintaining the work area in good order and cleanliness, conducive to good housekeeping and safety. Minimise waste and conserve energy through reuse and recycling. Perform all other work as assigned by Manager. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience Qualified Apprenticeship or a time served Toolmaker. Complete knowledge of all tooling requirements and their functions for all metal forming equipment. Mathematical proficiency (demonstrated through personnel tests). Toolmaker (Injection Moulding Environment) Birmingham Monday to Friday, 3 Shift £45,000 We are looking for a motivated Toolmaker from an injection moulding background to join a market leader in their respective field. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement to all tooling, jigs, fixtures and fittings for press tools in line with production and customer requirements to support business objectives. Support new tooling for new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds.
