A new instruction for an established key manufacturing client in the area for a Demand Planner. The role is presented on a long term contract basis, in order to provide support within the Team, due to the high volume of projects currently underway and offers attractive hybrid working. The Position /Regular Duties will include but not limited to: Maintain a rolling 12 to 18 month consensus demand plan and gaining full alignment with key stakeholders. Improve demand forecast accuracy Assist the Commercial Team to develop sales forecasts for all their products Challenge sales forecasts provided by the sales team, where significant changes have occurred Assist in maintaining the Manugistics forecasting system with all the data necessary to support the entry and storage of forecasts, and to produce accurate KPI's Support decision making considering risks and opportunities by presenting alternative scenarios and assessment of risk and opportunities around the demand plan and align with the commercial team on the consensus Support business understanding of volume forecasts and business performance through comprehensive analytics, including drivers of forecast changes and actual shipment variances to forecast. Work collaboratively through facilitating and strengthening S&OP process Support on service, supply/inventory and capacity investment decisions through comprehensive analytics, to enable decision making on future business needs Share best practises within the demand planning team for re-application in other geographies Work with commercial teams to continuously improve the current demand planning process and information exchanges with distributors liaising with other functions ie. customer service and supply planning as required, to ensure processes are ready to accommodate the planned business growth Identify and work to reconcile any discrepancies Alert supply chain on an anticipated demand changes likely to be of an exceptional nature Responsible for root cause analysis and providing information to the wider business around insight and reasons the changes to the demand plan Responsibility for launch forecasting on new product introductions Work continuously to improve all metrics and reporting processes Alert supply chain on an anticipated demand changes likely to be of an exceptional nature Continually improve forecast accuracy using best statistical data and regular communication with the commercial teams and their distributors Integrate with supply chain teams Package: Attractive salary - depending on experience 4% company performance relate bonus 9% matched pension contribution Health Cash Plan Life Assurance cover at 4 x base salary 24 days holiday ( bank holidays) plus you can buy or sell up to 3 days Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm, Friday 9am - 3pm! Develop the long term strategy for maintenance and replacement, and lead on reliability assessments. Monitor compliance standards in line with legislative requirements and/or best practice, auditing inspections and tests to ensure the required standards are met. Oversee the mechanical inspection regime, reporting on inspection findings, and applying your critical judgement to recommend an efficient programme of maintenance and repairs to be undertaken by external contractors or the in-house Engineering team. Make recommendations for the adoption of innovative approaches to achieve improvements to reliability and sustainability. Support other team members of the in-house Engineering team by reviewing and commenting on design drawings and specifications. Prepare technical guidance for the business, providing support and guidance to both technical and non-technical audiences, to ensure safe use of the Ports assets. Skills and Qualifications BEng/Meng (or equivalent) in appropriate Mechanical or similar discipline Chartered or incorporated membership with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) or working towards this is desirable Extensive post-graduation experience of undertaking mechanical designs and calculations Experience undertaking feasibility studies, design, assessments and specifications for mechanical engineering works Effective communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
