Job Title: Family Support Worker - Pre-birth Team Location: Sherburn, Durham Hourly Rate: £13 - £15 per hour We are a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality support to families and expectant parents in Sherburn, Durham. Our Pre-birth Team focuses on ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and their families from the very beginning of life. We work closely with other agencies and professionals to deliver integrated and comprehensive support services. We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Family Support Worker to join our Pre-birth Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting expectant parents and families, helping them to prepare for the arrival of their baby and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. You will be working with vulnerable families, providing practical assistance, emotional support, and guidance on a range of issues. Responsibilities: Work directly with expectant parents and families to assess their needs and provide tailored support plans. Offer practical and emotional support to families during the pre-birth period. Assist families in accessing relevant services and resources, including healthcare, housing, and financial assistance. Develop and deliver parenting programs and workshops. Collaborate with other professionals, such as midwives, social workers, and health visitors, to ensure coordinated care. Monitor and review the progress of families, making adjustments to support plans as needed. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all interactions and interventions. Provide crisis intervention and support to families in emergency situations. Advocate for the needs and rights of families within the community and with other service providers. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision as required. Qualifications: A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, Childcare, or a related field. Enhanced DBS issued within the last 36 months 2 recent references Right to work in the UK Knowledge of child development, parenting techniques, and family dynamics. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
