We are looking for a Team Manager who has experience working in Local Authorities and holds a Social Work Degree.
Your main area of responsibilities are
To provide leadership and professional expertise to the social work team ensuring a high standard of service delivery in line with the vision and values of the City Council.
To ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, complying with legislation, statutory guidance, policy and procedures and relevant frameworks.
The role will manage a team of Social Workers (and other staff) within a social care service and a wider Children, Young People and Families Directorate.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Team Manager to oversee both our Intake and Assessment Team and the Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) Team.
Provide professional supervision of other Social Workers, supporting caseload management and promoting reflective practice and continuous professional development.
Provide expert professional and technical advice to other Social Workers, managers, colleagues, and partners.
Manage social work caseload of more complex nature and with high levels of autonomy.
With the advice, supervision and support of a Service Manager or Head of Service, the Team Manager manages a statutory service to children in need, including children in need of protection and children in care, in line with Working Together and Our Safeguarding Children Partnership continuum of need/threshold policy as well as a range of other approved policies, procedures and practice guidance related to the role and function of the team/service.

The Assessment Service consists of five Assessment teams, each led by a Team Manager managing up to five social workers.
